In first weeks at the helm, former AAMP COO discusses responsibility to dealers for increased education and need for critical tools and solutions to improve customer profitability

Clearwater, FL (December 7, 2007) – AAMP of America™, innovators in world-class electronics design, development, and distribution, announced today the appointment of Ron Freeman as its new President and CEO. Freeman replaces AAMP founder and former CEO Micah Ansley, who will remain with the company as Chairman of the Board.

Freeman takes over as CEO for the company’s premier Peripheral Electronics®, Stinger®, Best Kits and Harnesses™, Sound Quest™ and AAMP Home® brands. He brings over sixteen years of experience with the company as Director of Purchasing, Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer (COO).

“Micah’s support over the years has been unwavering,” said Freeman. “I congratulate him on his twenty years of strong leadership, and for a standard of excellence that has paved the way for future growth.”

Getting Started – Renewed Initiative to Make Customers More Competitive
In just two weeks as CEO, Freeman is already promoting a renewed company-wide initiative to bring more value to its core customers across all lines of the company. Indeed, fresh off the heels of its first-ever “Rep Training Camp,” Freeman cited the critical need for more tools to improve customer profitability.

Specifically, Freeman pointed to the responsibility of companies like AAMP of America to provide dealers with ongoing education, allowing dealers to capture new opportunities at every turn. He said the company is committed to adding the necessary resources to make its customers’ businesses more viable in a constantly changing marketplace.

“The dealers and small retailers are looking for ways to be more profitable, and it’s our job to show them how,” said Freeman. “This means educating them on the latest technologies, and bringing them the solutions to stay competitive. In the end, our goal is to help them embrace and sell these technologies—and to prepare them for newer ones as they emerge.”

Freeman indicated that AAMP of America will continue to promote its industry-best line of Peripheral Electronics OEM Integration and Stinger merchandising solutions.

“For our customers to reap the full benefits of OEM Integration, the solutions themselves must anticipate future mobile technologies while seamlessly connecting current portable media—iPods and MP3 players, Bluetooth-enabled phones, laptops and gaming systems—to the factory stereo,” said Freeman.

“As for merchandising, we’re finding that our specialty stores need it most. Real solutions that make their store look better, that entice the consumer inside and show them the value of buying our products. These days, superior merchandising is critical to improving sell-through and increasing any store’s bottom line.”

2008 CES – Comprehensive Solutions for Today’s Retail Challenges
Freeman commented that this year’s CES will be unlike any previous year for AAMP of America. “We’re prepared to take the industry by storm,” he said. “We’ve spent the entire year bringing an unprecedented array of solutions to market. And they’ll all be at the 2008 CES—in stock and ready to ship.”

In addition to its brand-new 2008 PRO and HPM lines, Stinger has developed a comprehensive merchandising program that includes new retail Planograms, product displays, signage and point-of-purchase materials, packaging, and a full line of dealer and consumer brochures and other collateral.

Peripheral Electronics will also debut multiple OEM Integration solutions, including the first-ever Automotive Media Gateway. The Gateway seamlessly integrates iPod™, USB devices and many other portable media products into the factory audio system—without losing any of the factory features and controls. It also integrates HD Radio™ technology with the addition of the Peripheral Electronics HD Radio Tuner.

“From a development standpoint, we’ve never had so much to show at CES,” said Freeman. “These aren’t just products, they’re solutions. Today’s retail challenges are harder than ever, and to stay competitive our customers need a company that understands these challenges and gives them the means to overcome them.”

Freeman encouraged all AAMP of America customers at CES to visit them at Booth #5218.

“CES is a great opportunity to showcase everything we’ve put together for 2008. We can’t wait to pull back the curtain and roll out this unprecedented lineup of solutions. In the end, we have one simple goal: to open new sales channels for our customers and maximize their revenues. CES is where all of that begins.”
